Karo Kindermann is an IICP project coordinator (www.iicp.at). She is currently starting her Master's Thesis at the Academy of Fine Arts in Austria. She is analysing the relation between traditional ways of presentation, perceptions and dramaturgy in myths and media and their influence on the patterns of thought and act, and subsequently its constructive and deconstructive influence on conflicts. Therefore she is going to research the conflict situation in Northern Uganda.
Karo studied philosophy and science of theatre and graduated in fine arts >from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 2004.
Since 2003 she has attended the International Peace Summer Academy in Stadt Schlaining. In 2004 she participated in the International Academy for Conflict Resolution - COMPAIR. During this period she further studied theatre pedagogy and co-organised an intercultural theatre group in Vienna. From 2005 to 2007 Karo worked in socio-cultural projects focusing on participative models for the "Interessengemeinschaft Kultur Wien" (www.igkulturwien.net) and was engaged in the >camp-project< (www.camp-project.eu) for coordination at the >labfactory< in Vienna.
