The company factline Webservices Ltd has specialized in the topic of distributed knowledge work and offers products and services for virtual knowledge communities.

Knowledge communities are for example learning, project, or expert communities, whose members want to communicate via the internet by the means of a virtual working space, having the goal to exchange, prepare and present knowledge together.

The developed especially for that software "factline community server" (in short FCS) enables operating and servicing knowledge communities in the simplest way. This is achieved by the means of internet platforms, on whose specific information (in the form of articles, documents, pictures, etc.) can be made both internally and/or publicly available. For the exchange of the users among themselves, different interaction possibilities are integrated directly in the content offer.

FCS is especially suitable as learning infrastructure for educational institutes (e-learning), for project communication in cross-company projects and for companies with several company locations (e.g. for communities of practice).

In a second business area, "Content licensing", factline has established contacts to the main print media in the German-speaking countries, in the middle and east Europe, and also in Russia and the formal soviet republics, and can refer to experience built through many years in negotiating content licensing contracts.
